Description:
This two day in person workshop will focus on capturing the alla prima portrait, using the basics to capture light & a solid form. We will dive into techniques of skin tone, brushwork, edges, tone, colour temperature, & nuances. I will also be discussing how to achieve likeness & beyond which leads into capturing the spirit & essence of the subject. I encourage questions throughout the entirety of the workshop & will provide a commentary while I show the demo, taking you through my process. We will talk about the difference between painting from a photo & from life & how to turn your painting into a living breathing piece of art, capturing the subtle emotions of the human portrait. This will not only help with the subject at hand but give you the tools to carry into your future goals for painting & I hope to take you to the next level in your painting.
